Allison Alexander has been involved in the sport of purebred dogs nearly her entire life. In 1987 she became a Professional Dog Handler and throughout her career won more than any other woman in Canada - more than 750 ‘Best in Show’ awards!
Allison has spent more than 30 years perfecting the art of presenting one of the dog world's most difficult breeds to master: The Poodle. Allison has groomed and handled many top-winning Poodles, to 'Top Dog All Breeds' status and high honours at prestigious events around the world. Today, Allison is internationally recognized as one of the world's most talented and experienced Poodle handlers and groomers as well as an award-winning educator in this subject. Allison has presented seminars on Poodle grooming and handling all over the world, and created Global Poodle Summit to provide a world-class educational conference for its first ever event in Belgium in 2023.
Allison has handled and groomed all breeds of dogs at some of the most prestigious competitions, worldwide. Allison has also had much success as a mentor to thousands of dog groomers and handlers. In 2017, Allison founded the world’s first complete online school for dog handling, grooming and training - ‘Leading Edge Dog Show Academy’ which has thousands of successful students from around the world.
Am/Can Ch. Dawin High Falutin - 'Lutin' was the Top Dog of All Breeds in Canada in 1995 where he won more points and Best in Shows in the year than any dog. He is still the top Canadian-bred point-winner for a single year.
Am/Can Ch. Dawin Stellar Performance - 'Stella' was the Top Dog of All Breeds in Canada, 2004 and is the Top-Winning Bitch of All Time in Canada (to this day).
Am/Can GChEx Veset Kate Winsit - 'Kate' was Best of Variety at Westminster Kennel Club, 2012 and was the #3 Dog of All Breeds in Canada, 2013.
Eng/Am Ch Del Zarzoso Salvame From Afterglow - 'Dino' and Allison won the Non-Sporting Group at the 2012 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship.
Eng/Am/Can Ch. Afterglow Maverick Sabre - 'Ricky' and Allison won Best of Variety at Poodle Club of America in 2016, and was groomed by Allison for his 2014 Crufts 'Best in Show' win.
Am/Can Ch Adessi Elemental Afterglow - 'Ellie Mae' is a multiple Best in Show winner, and is Allison's own Poodle & beloved companion.
