Summary wrapping the neck video
Wrapping the Neck and Down the Back
- Make sure your dog is laying in a straight line.
- Never brush “dry” hair. Mist your poodle’s topknot with diluted Plush Puppy Silk Conditioner or Plush Puppy OMG. You do not want the dog wet as a light mist will suffice.
- Make your first “neck” section (I call this the ear section) by making a square between the ears. The first “part” is the “part” you did that ended the head section. The next two parts are the ones at the top of each ear. The last “part” is a straight line from the back corner of the right ear to the back corner of the left ear. This square section is now your size guide for all other neck sections.
- Secure the rubber band around this section 3 times.
- Be sure the wrap is straight and wrinkle free.
- Pinch the “wrap” and the band in your fingers, holding the top of the wrap and the rubber band in the hair at the same time.
- With the “wrap” pinched in your fingers, hold the top of the “wrap”, rubber band and the hair, all together. The length of hair is laid down on the wrapper 2 inches from the right hand side.
- Wrap the wrapper around this section of hair, making sure all the hair is neatly contained in the wrapper.
- Once the hair is completely encased in the wrap and the wrap is wrinkle free, fold the wrap in half from the bottom to the band on top. Pinch everything together in your fingers.
- Still pinching both ends of the wrap and the band, once again fold the “wrap” in half from the bottom to the band on top. Pinch everything together with your fingers.
- Band the “wrap” about 25% from one edge using two bands at the same time.
- Band the opposite end of the “wrap” 25% away from the edge.
- Your wrapper should now resemble a candy.
- Repeat the above process as far down the back of your poodle as desired.
- Do not attach wrappers together.
- Be sure your dog is laying in a straight line at all times.
- PRO TIP- If it doesn't look right or looks like it is pulling, take it out and do it again, as this will drive your poodle crazy and they will scratch and matt their hair.
